The Power of Video
Because I’m primarily a writer, you might expect me to favor the pen over the video camera. But that’s not always the case. Certain goals need different types of media to reach or exceed expectations.
When we created the NRHA PRO TRAINER seven years ago, it began as a print publication. Over the course of its evolution, a digital publication made more sense for a few reasons.
Deadline flexibility
Ability to link to outside resources so pros can find additional information
Cost savings—paper and printing aren’t getting any less expensive
With that digital evolution, NRHA identified an opportunity to promote this project on the main stages of their major events. Debuting at the 2023 NRHA Derby, the above video promotes the PRO TRAINER to NRHA Professionals competing at those events, but also shows NRHA members that the organization invests in its biggest assets: the professionals who train up the horses, coach the riders, teach the kids, and make reining a worldwide phenomenon by showcasing the amazing horses.
The PRO TRAINER’s purpose boils down to elevating NRHA Professionals’ business acumen, which then raises their businesses to new levels along with the sport in general. This video aims to increase the project’s visibility so we can get even more NRHA Pros to take notice and click the link they receive quarterly and take in the information we put together to help them tackle all aspects of business, from marketing to customer service and financial advice to mental health.
By bringing print (in a digital format) and video together, we further our message and spur others to think about these topics and doing the best we can for our industry.
